AT7X does not buy finished garments and put a label on them. Every trouser and tee is woven, dyed, cut and finished at Akam Textile, our own mill in Lahore.
That is why we can publish the exact specification of every fabric we use — composition, weave, weight in GSM, and hardware brand. Most clothing sold online in Pakistan lists only “cotton blend” and leaves you to guess. This page tells you precisely what you are paying for.

Cargo pants — 98% cotton twill, 220–240 GSM
The heaviest cloth we make. At 220–240 grams per square metre, this twill is noticeably more substantial than most cargo pants sold online in Pakistan, which typically sit between 180 and 200 GSM.
Weight matters because it determines whether a trouser holds its shape. A lighter cloth drapes limply after a few washes and the cargo pockets begin to sag. At 220–240 GSM the fabric has enough body to keep a clean line through the leg and keep loaded pockets sitting flat.
The 2% stretch is deliberate and small. Enough to move with you when you sit, crouch or climb stairs. Not enough to turn a structured trouser into something that behaves like jersey.
Hardware and construction: YKK zipper, metal shank button, reinforced belt loops, double-needle stitching on all main seams, and bar-tacking at every pocket stress point.

Cargo trousers — 97% cotton twill, elastic waist
A softer, more relaxed cloth than the cargo pant twill, with 3% stretch instead of 2%. Paired with an elastic waistband and no belt loops, this is the easiest AT7X trouser to wear for a full day.
The extra 1% of stretch is what makes a loose fit work. A loose cut in rigid cloth bunches behind the knee; with 3% stretch the fabric recovers its shape as you move.

Plain trousers — 97% cotton twill, 160–170 GSM
Our lightest woven cloth, and the right choice for peak summer. At 160–170 GSM it is roughly 30% lighter than the cargo pant twill, which makes a real difference through June and July in Lahore or Karachi.
Same 97/3 cotton-stretch composition as the cargo trousers, woven lighter. Slim fit, three pockets, elastic waistband with drawstring. This is the fabric to choose for office and smart-casual wear.

T-shirts — 50/50 cotton polyester, 180 GSM
A deliberate blend rather than pure cotton. The cotton half keeps it breathable and soft against the skin. The polyester half holds the shape, reduces shrinkage, and dries faster.
At 180 GSM (±10) it is a mid-weight jersey — thick enough not to be see-through, light enough to stay comfortable in warm weather. Many white tees sold online in Pakistan sit near 140 GSM and go transparent after a few washes.

Why twill?
Three of our four fabrics are twill. Twill is woven in a diagonal interlacing pattern rather than the simple over-under of plain weave, and that structure gives it three advantages for trousers:
- Better drape — it falls cleanly instead of hanging flat and shapeless
- More durability — the diagonal structure resists abrasion better than plain weave
- Better colour retention — dye holds more evenly and fades more slowly
The diagonal texture also hides everyday marks and creases better than plain cotton, which is why twill has been the standard for workwear and chinos for over a century.
Piece-dyed, in-house
Every colour is piece-dyed at our own facility, meaning the fabric is dyed after weaving rather than the yarn being dyed first. We do it in-house so that shade stays consistent from batch to batch — the olive you order today matches the olive you ordered six months ago.

Care — how to keep the fabric performing
- Machine wash cold, inside out
- Wash separately the first time to release surface dye
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents — both break down cotton fibres and strip colour
- Tumble dry low or line dry in shade — direct sun fades dyed cotton
- Iron on medium heat
Cotton twill improves with wear. It softens with each wash while holding its structure, which is the main reason we build in cotton rather than synthetic blends.

What does GSM mean in clothing?
GSM stands for grams per square metre — the weight of one square metre of the fabric. Higher GSM means heavier, more structured cloth. Lower GSM means lighter and more breathable. AT7X cargo pants at 220–240 GSM are structured and durable; plain trousers at 160–170 GSM are lighter and better suited to hot weather.
Is cotton twill good for Pakistan's summer?
Yes. Cotton twill breathes rather than trapping heat against the skin, unlike polyester-heavy fabrics. For peak summer, the 160–170 GSM plain trouser is the lightest and most comfortable option in the range.
Why do AT7X cargo pants use 2% stretch and cargo trousers use 3%?
Cargo pants are a structured fit with belt loops, so they need less give and more shape retention. Cargo trousers are a loose fit with an elastic waistband, where the extra 1% of stretch stops the roomier cut from bunching as you move.
What is a YKK zipper and why does it matter?
YKK is the globally recognised standard for garment zippers. It runs smoothly, resists snagging, and survives thousands of uses. Zippers are the most common point of failure in cargo pants, which is why we name the brand we use instead of leaving it unstated.
What does bar-tacked mean?
Bar-tacking is a dense box of reinforcement stitching applied at the highest-stress points of a pocket — the corners and the opening. It stops pockets tearing away from the trouser when carrying heavy items. Every AT7X cargo pocket is bar-tacked.
Will AT7X trousers shrink after washing?
Minimal shrinkage if washed cold and dried low. The fabric is pre-treated before cutting. Hot washing and high-heat drying will shrink any cotton garment, which is why we recommend cold wash and shade drying.

All fabric is woven, dyed, cut and finished at Akam Textile in Lahore, Pakistan — AT7X's own manufacturing facility. Nothing is imported or outsourced.
